What percentage of my Reverb Store sales does ReverbNation keep?
What percentage of my Reverb Store sales does ReverbNation keep?

We take a flat fee for each item sold, not a percentage. There is no charge to create your Reverb Store or any of its content. We don’t make a cent until you do — when you sell an item, we get a pre-set flat fee. Fee details are listed within each category of content creation.

To reiterate the question, what is the "flat fee"? I've looked all over your site for this information, but it seems to be hidden. I am interested in setting up shop, but why should I waste my time without knowing what I'm getting into? There are many other storefronts available, and I've tried several. I'm looking for the best total package. A straight answer, or a link to where the information can be found, would be much appreciated.

anyway its about 40 % they take for each sale, and that a ripoff, if you ask me.and thats why I deleted my account.take the whole step and make your own site.ask for a coder at ,for ex.: http://www.project4hire.com, about 500$ you get a good one, theres also a comunity site from Iceland that charges low rate. my site is soon ready,: www.metaclass.com (about 14 days)hope to see you there:) regards per gunnar merakerli

There are no fees to use the Reverb Store. The "flat fee" is a pre-set amount that is the base price of the item. You can find the base price for each item when you choose to create it.
Each item has its own base price. American Apparel t-shirts, for example, will have a higher base price than a Hanes t-shirt, because they are of higher quality. You can set the price to be anything you like above the base price, thereby choosing your own profit. At no point are you asked to pay anything out of pocket when creating the merchandise.
Let's say, for example, that I wanted to create a t-shirt. I choose my t-shirt and am given a price of $7.44. This means that the base price of the t-shirt (what we keep to pay for the t-shirt, the printing, and the shipping) is $7.44. You can, then, price the t-shirt to be whatever you like. If you choose to sell it for $10, then you wil make a $2.56 profit. If you choose to sell it for $30, you will make a $22.56 profit.
You never have to pay money out of pocket to set up anything in the Reverb Store. The "flat fee" makes this possible. Hope this helps clarify! -

Jason, I really appreciate the response. But what about digital music sales? If I want to sell an MP3 album at $9.99, and individual downloads at .99 cents, how much of that does RN take? Thanks. ~ HH

The base price for an MP3 download is $.30, so you would make a profit of $.69 per sale. The base price for an album is $3.00, so you would earn $6.99 per sale. Hope this helps!

Thank you Jason, that's what I needed to know. I really appreciate your patience. I think I can speak for many, such as myself, in saying I wish RN would make that information easier to find, prior to opening a storefront. With so many digital music hosting options available, we have to shop around.
Thanks very much,

In a prior question about cost of merch items, the answer from Reverbnation was that while the cost of items was a flat fee, there was no list of that cost available since prices may fluctuate. Surely there is some way to tell us how much Revebnation takes as its cut from any sale of any merch so we have some idea what to charge! How can we get this info?
This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled
How do I find out the base price of items in my ReverbStore?. -

Say, I can't find anywhere where that says what process is used to make these shirts. Heat press? Silk Screened? Also, are there any photos showing final product examples?
Also wondering if I can just add the shirts we already got made locally to our store? -

Going back to what Jason said : "The base price for an MP3 download is $.30, so you would make a profit of $.69 per sale." how much does Reverbnation get?
-
ReverbNation gets 0 cents of that 69.

Jason, If I sell a physical CD for 10.00, what will the base price be from Reverbnation? What does it cost to mail the cd out for my customers?
Thanks-
Hi Candice
The base price is always $5.49 for physical CDs, no matter the retail price you choose. So if you chose $10, then if the CD sells, you would make $4.51. That includes Audiolife (store partner company) printing up the CD on demand and shipping it out to your customer for you.
Hope that helps! -
