This issue is caused by one of two reasons:
1 - YOU HAVE NOT YET CREATED A FACEBOOK BAND PAGE.
As of Wednesday October 13, 2010, the ability to add an application such as My Band as a tab to your band members’ personal profiles has been removed. You can only add the My Band application as a tab to your band page. If you have not yet created a Facebook band page, you can do so by clicking HERE.
Not sure if you have a band page? Here is an easy way to check: View your band's Facebook page while logged out of Facebook. Which of the two buttons below do you see?

If you see the 'Like' button, this means that you have a band page. If you see the 'Add as a Friend' button, this means that you have a personal profile and will need to create a band page in order to add My Band.
2 - YOU HAVE ALREADY ADDED MY BAND TO YOUR BAND PAGE.
Navigate to your band page on Facebook and look for this tab:

If you have a lot of tabs on your page, the My Band tab may be hiding in the 'More Tabs' tab, which can be accessed by clicking this button:

If you do not see the tab anywhere on your page, click HERE, then scroll down until you find My Band. After doing so, click 'Application Settings' and add My Band as a tab.

Lianne Fournier October 30, 2010 21:58Ok. I have tried everything that was suggested here. I know I have a bad page. Everytime I go there all there is is an edit page of some sort with a list and check marks of what's on the page. I have not found ANYTHING that says Edit - Application Settings - Remove application. I have searched every where! I don't understand what's going on and I am becomung increasingly frustrated with trying to put what appears to be a simple task like putting the My Band tab on my facebook profile. I keep going around in circles. Can someone help me please before I go into a rage? - LianneEditDeleteRemove

Alan Ramon November 23, 2010 16:56I know exactly what Dirk up there is going through. I have a 'Band Profile' tab on my FB Band Page, but it would be really cool when someone opens my profile page, they would see a Band Profile tab on my FB Profile page. i too, like Dirk, have spent hours trying to get this to happen. Jason and company have been trying to help, but it keeps leading me to a dead end. I have a FB Band profile, but no one is going to see it unless they go searching for it. It is not seen anywhere on my Profile pageEditDeleteRemove

My Band is currently only for artist accounts. Label, management, and venue accounts cannot currently use the application. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Is it possible to add My Band to a Facebook 'group', rather than a 'page'?

Things got even worse for me!Although i managed to add my band to my face book band page , 63 face book fans disappeared from my reverb nation stats!!!Any help would be much appreciated

Like Lianne above, I have tried everything about 50 times for about a week. I have never found Application Settings either. Have really been trying to resolve this before Nov 3rd. I still don't know if I have a proper Band Page or not. Like Dirk, above, I can't view my band page when logged OUT of FaceBook. But when I'm logged on (with my single account), I do get the "Like" button. I think your instructions at this point have led me to create multiple lame "band" pages. None of them appear in a google search, and there are different people who "like" each of them. I would REALLY appreciate some concrete steps to take to consolidate these mutant band page attempts into the real deal. Glad to see that I wasn't the only one who hasn't been able to do this "simple task". Still trying, and waiting for some expertise to sort it out for once and for all.

facebook WILL NOT add a band profile tab to my band page
http://www.facebook.com/add.php?api_k... 'the developer does not allow'. this is the primary reason for my using reverb nation and if it will not work I will not be using it I think

I clicked the add my band to band page before the nov.3 transition, and only got this message:My Band: Profile Pages for Bands and Musicians
The developer of this application does not currently allow it to be added.
How can I make this change before the deadline

@ Patricia et al: I only ever got that message as well. However I found that the app was actually added to my band page anyways.
for the reps saying that this message only occurs 'due to two things', that is quite inaccurate, it occurred here when both things were a non-issue. It makes an assumption that is not true and was not checked. that is not helpful.-
Your right! My Band and Band Profile are synonymous. Thanks, this is a "No problem".

I have tried to stop following this question twice now. the connection logs me in here - redundantly - to see the question again.

Sprite_screen this answers the question.
you will see more than one person this happened to.-
Can you provide a link to which you are trying to add My Band?

I tried to add MyBand to my FaceBook Band Page and this is the message I received.
My Band: Profile Pages for Bands and Musicians
The developer of this application does not currently allow it to be added.
I thought you wanted us to make this add after 11/3/10. Am I doing something wrong? I am using Safari and OSX 5.8 on my Mac G5.
Thank you for your attention!

When I try to add My Band, I get a message that states 'The developer of this application does not allow it be added.' What should I do?

i've tried all suggestions, have had all of the above happen. nothing seems to work. my band page exists somewhere on fb. but not on my page. i can search for it, but what is the point of that? why did they screw up a good thing is the question? we all want our band on our fb page because our friends, or others searching our name can then see our music. that really was the point. i tried a search for my band page and got thru about the first 20 of similar phrases to modern martyr. i wish someone was available in real time to ans. the simple questions we have. this is all a tremendous waste of time.
-
What i did was start up my own own 'like' page with all of my music on it. Instead of people fanning you, they like it and you then can use it to promote yourself. I personally like it the way it was but that is the punch. You have to roll with it.

I agree Richard I tried every thing too and nothing is where they say it is and nothing seems to work.We need real time support not the run around

I was able to get mine on there, but I agree with what you said about messing up a good thing. Right now, my biggest problem is trying to find out what my Facebook URL is. I have searched everything I know to search, yet I still have no idea how to get to my own Facebook profile, nor my Band page, and that means I can't let anyone else know where to find me either! So here I sit with my wheels spinning, losing time and money.
-
so jerry. how did you do it?
-
-
if it's your page then on your personal profile to the left is a tab that says ads and pages,,,click that to take you to your fbmusic page. Your reverbnation page is in a box on that page! I suggest getting rid of every box except Band profile..which is your reverb page!
-
-
-
-
-
exactly. i'm curious as to why they took the band tab off of the page in the first place?
i can't find my band page either. since it's not on my fb page it's really kind of irrelevant anyway since it makes logical sense to have it there. it makes it impossible for others to find it. it was very convenient for people to go to your page and see your band page. why would someone bother and lose sleep trying
to find someone's music? -
-
hey jerry. i did a search on your name and your fb page came up w/the band profile attached there. how did you do it?

i cant add a revernation store widget to my facebook. How do i do it?
-
Go to your FB Music page...edit profile....go to FBML...edit settings....paste code...save! Now i suggest that you just set the store up in reverbnation and just let it be accessed from your band profile on FB

I had a group page, then a public profile page before band page, and have already moved people around as FB changes their policies. I don't want to create YET ANOTHER page (band page), so my question is: I have a my band tab, but can't get my automatic show updates, and manual updates to link to my page. Is reverb progrmmed to only recognize band pages, or can I get it to link to my public profile page where my my band tab is?
